Media Registration

WHO QUALIFIES FOR A MEDIA BADGE?

Working journalists in print, broadcast and digital media on assignment or conducting research for established publications and media outlets qualify. This includes reporters, editors, and publishers. Film crews and photographers must have proof of assignment.

Freelancers must have published or broadcast-related coverage in an established media outlet within the past year on topics related to the event, i.e, science, technology, pop culture, animation, etc.

Blog writers must have created new content within the past three months on topics related to the event. Product giveaways and contests do not qualify. Blog writers may be asked to provide evidence from a data-tracking service (such as Google Analytics or Compete.com) that unique visitors exceed 3,000 per month.

YouTube channels must have created new content within the past six months on topics related to the Comic-Con industry. YouTubers may be asked to provide evidence from a data-tracking service (such as Google Analytics) showing a minimum of 50,000 average monthly views.

WHO DOES NOT QUALIFY?

Employees of media outlets who do not work in an editorial capacity will not qualify for a media badge including Advertising Executives, Art Directors, District Managers, Graphic Designers, Industry Consultants, Writers for company newsletters and websites, Publishers, Managers, Social Media Managers, Marketing Representatives, Public Relations Personnel, Sales Representatives and Senior Level Managerial staff.

Freelancers who do not have published or broadcast-related stories within the past year and do not have a letter of assignment for the show.

Facebook, Twitter, personal blogs, forums, communities, and user groups will not be considered for media passes.

Film crews/photographers engaged by exhibitors for marketing purposes (register through exhibitor registration as exhibitor personnel).

ON-SITE REGISTRATION

Media registering on-site at the show may be asked to provide evidence of current work for well-established media outlets. The same qualifications are required for pre-registration.


Media Terms and Conditions: Submission: Show management will contact you if your credential documents are approved or denied, or if additional information is required. The deadline for pre-media registration is Wednesday, September 30, 2020, after that date, you will need to register on-site in media registration. SHOW RULES: Solicitation of exhibitors by the press is strictly prohibited. Press found soliciting exhibitors will lose their press credentials. Must supply samples of published work within the last 12 months. Media registrations are non-transferable. Government-issued photo ID is required to pick up a media badge. Holder also hereby: (1) releases SiliCon with Adam Savage from any liability for loss or damage to persons or property, infringement of any right or any other claim or course of action of any kind. (2) authorizes and permits SiliCon with Adam Savage and its designee's which include but are not limited to all sponsors, exhibitors, and contractors to use and authorize the use of his/her name, voice, likeness, and all reproductions thereof by any means and in all media now and hereafter know for all purposes worldwide in perpetuity. (3) agrees to comply with all rules and regulations of the event. (4) agrees not to make any recordings of any kind at designated activities without the express written permission of SiliCon with Adam Savage. Service fees can include shipping and handling. We reserve the right to deny entry or remove from the Event facilities any person who in our sole and absolute discretion is behaving or threatening to behave in a manner which we reasonably consider to be disruptive of the Event. SiliCon with Adam Savage provides media badges to qualified media to cover the event. All credential requests are subject to approval at the discretion of show management.
