Panels/Workshops ::
Rated G :: As gamers, we have all had things happen in our games which we look back on and wish we had responded differently to. Whether it be someone being treated unfairly or as simple as an imbalance in who gets to talk the most. Realizing that social barriers and micro-aggressions exist which make gaming less enjoyable or even miserable for some gamers, we can actively train ourselves to know when and how to speak up, help out, and make our beloved hobby a safe and enjoyable space for everyone. This workshop will give allies and gamers from underrepresented groups tools to recognize and respond to micro-aggressions and other problematic situations during games. Through conscious practice we can work to ward off problems, recognize problems, and intervene when they arise.
