Dice Games ::
Rated G :: Sedis is a tile-based game system with both pre-established games and the flexibility to create new games. Sedis’ concept and design is what is called a “generic gaming device,” which we assert is the fourth in history after dice, dominoes and modern playing cards. That is, this is the first game system of its kind in about 600 years. Each set has 60 uniquely designed hexagonal tiles laser-etched, lacquered, and laser-cut from wood for a clean, appealing look and feel. Games can be both collaborative and competitive (or both!) and the number of tiles allows for an easy division of tiles among one to six players. The numeric system behind the creation of the tiles allows for a variety of rules and mechanisms for play that lead to aesthetic shapes and patterns as games unfold. These mechanics are numerous, yet intuitive enough to be played by anyone. Adults, kids, teachers, game theorists and general all-out game enthusiasts have enjoyed playing with the tiles so far; they’re great for either a pub or a schoolhouse, and they’re super fun! Sedis is the inaugural product launch from Nefer Games, based in Houston, TX. Designed by hobbyist game designer Neal Murthy, who came up with the design after awaking from a dream in 2012. Sedis is planned to launch on Kickstarter in April 2017.
