Laurie’s voice is instantly recognizable as Piggy in Muppet Babies, having voiced the character for 9 seasons between 1983 and 1991. Her voice work also includes cartoons such as, Cro, Dungeons & Dragons, Ghostbusters, and Transformers, and commercials for Levi’s 501, McDonald’s, Lincoln Mercury, among many others. Her television acting includes St. Elsewhere, Walker Texas Ranger, C.S.I., and movies include Too Young to Die?, Timerider, and Complete Works (currently on Amazon Prime).

Laurie has focused primarily on her stage work recently, having played a wide range of roles from lunatics and white trash to the most beautiful woman in the world (Helen of Troy in The Greeks) and a prima ballerina (Lake Anne). Some favorite roles include Kate in “Taming of the Shrew”, Paulina in the remake of the movie “The Defiant Ones”. Most recently Laurie was seen on stage at Capital Rep Theatre in Albany NY as Queen Elizabeth in “Shakespeare in Love”.

Prior to pursuing her acting career in LA she participated in theatre workshops in schools all across Colorado as part of the Colorado Council for the Arts and Humanities, and in mental hospitals and juvenile detention centers throughout Denver through a group called Art Reach. She has been married for over 30 years to actor Carl Weintraub, who since 1981 has run the non-profit We Tell Stories (www.wetellstories.org) that performs in schools and also facilitates workshops in classrooms and for teachers.
