Sebastian Jones

Sebastian is the owner and President of Stranger Comics. After leaving London for Los Angeles at the age of 18, he founded the critically acclaimed MVP Records globally releasing 25 albums over several years that featured such artists as James Brown, John Coltrane, Marvin Gaye, and Billie Holiday, boasting a client list that included EMI-Capitol, Sony, WB, BMG, and Universal. He transitioned from music to movies when he collaborated with filmmakers The Polish Brothers (Twin Falls Idaho, Northfork) as well as starring in scores of national commercials. Jones wrote and directed the comedy pilot Cast Off starring Scoot McNairy (Argo, 12 Years a Slave) and Scott Adsit (Big Hero 6, 30 Rock). He then transitioned to feature writing and adapted several of his stories into comics and children’s books, when he founded Stranger Comics and children’s division Stranger Kids. Jones now spends his time publishing, writing, and teaching “The art of the story,” and “How to turn an idea from concept to creation (without selling your soul),” to universities around the world. Comics and kid’s books to his credit include Niobe: She is Life, Niobe: She is Death co-created with Amandla Stenberg (Hunger Games), The Untamed: A Sinner’s Prayer, The Untamed: Killing Floor, Dusu: Path of the Ancient, Piñata, Salvador, Ruining Christmas, Tales of Asunda, Erathune, I Am Mixed, I Am Living in 2 Homes, and I Am Awesome. The latter three are part of the children’s I Am Book Series, which is co-created by Garcelle Beauvais (Flight) with forewords by Halle Berry , Dr. Charles J. Sophy (Dr. Phil), and Angie Harmon.
