Linda Young is an American voice actress who is best known for her role as Frieza from Dragon Ball Z. Her other roles include Baba and Piiza from Dragon Ball Z, Genkai from Yu Yu Hakusho, Porlyusica from Fairy Tail, Grandmother from Orange, and minor roles in Attack on Titan, Detective Conan, One Piece, Fullmetal Alchemist, and more.
Linda Young is originally from Milwaukee Wisconsin, where she was active in theatrical plays and musical comedy.
She studied theater arts communications and music at Mount Mary college.
When she moved to Texas, Linda continued acting and singing. She sings with Big Bands and Jazz Combos.
Linda also worked at radio stations and advertising agencies, writing and voicing many commercials.
Linda became a part of Funimation anime when she auditioned in the early 1990s.
At auditions, actors were asked to imitate anime voices. Linda's voice was a match for Frieza.
She has played various characters throughout the years including Baba also from Dragon Ball Z, Genkai from Yu Yu Hakusho, Porlyusica from Fairy Tail, Grandmother from Orange and many minor roles.
Her son is John Burgmeier who also acts and writes for FUNimation.
