Joe Giella

Joe Giella returns to Denver Comic Con for a rare convention appearance! The legendary Golden and Silver Age penciler/inker is the oldest living Batman artist. Joe has worked for Timely, Marvel and DC Comics for over 70 years; his work first appeared in 1947, on Timely’s Willie and DC’s Flash Comics. After that, he was a regular on DC’s Batman, Flash, Wonder Woman, and Detective (and many others) in the Silver and Bronze ages of comics, as well as performing the art duties on the syndicated newspaper strips of Batman, Flash Gordon, The Phantom, Mary Worth, and Sherlock Holmes. In 2006, the United States Post Office honored Joe Giella by using two of his covers for celebratory postage stamps in the “DC Super Heroes " collection. He has won the Ink Pot Award and the 2016 Harvey "Lifetime Achievement" Award. Joe will be bringing assorted original illustrations and prints for sale to his Denver fans.
