ToyCon 2020 will be opening press registration to journalists regularly making editorial contributions. This includes writers, reporters, reviewers, producers, photographers, cameraman etc. This specific pass release is to cover our event for newspapers, magazines, TV, Blogs, podcasts, radio and other significant media outlets.
The deadline to apply for press passes for ToyCon Fan Experience is February 20th 12 am PST. Press Passes for ToyCon Fan Experience are being made available to the following media outlets:
Social Media and/or Website must have existed for at least 2 years.
Must have original content updated at least weekly.
Websites deemed offensive or antagonistic towards our fandom, guests or the event will not be approved.
Your website must have at least two verifiable social media pages with more than 1,000 followers each. Pages can be on Facebook, YouTube, Tumblr, Twitter, or Instagram.
Soft measures such as professionalism, quality, and history.
Internet press is limited to two passes per web outlet, and both pass holders must work for the website in question and have verifiable credits. Please don’t try and pass your friend off as a photographer for the site, it won’t work and you will be banned from ever being considered for press credentials in the future.
Because it is difficult to grant passes to everyone who makes a request, please be sure to be very detailed in filling out this form. Each press badge is issued individually. If you are applying with a team, each person on your team needs to apply and be approved separately. Every individual applying for a ToyCon Fan Experience press pass may only apply once. Multiple applications for 1 participant will not guarantee a better chance of approval.
Your Press badge DOES NOT allow early access to the building, special access or guaranteed seating. You will not have an exclusive placement to cover the event outside that of a standard attendee. If any event requires an additional ticket, you will be required to obtain that separately.
As always, the issuance of a press badge is at the sole discretion of ToyFanatics LLC. Please be respectful to all our guests participating in the convention. Our press badges are provided as a courtesy to cover our event. We do not tolerate stunt type events, ambush interviewing or any action that could be considered unsafe. All or our press passes are to adhere to the same rules as our attendees.
Submitting this application does not guarantee approval. You will be notified if you have been approved or denied within 30 days of the event.
The number of passes that will be distributed is at the discretion of ToyFanatics LLC.
If you are granted a press pass, we ask that you complete a piece/share information about ToyCon Fan Experience before the event itself. You will also be added to our mailing list so that you receive information about the show.
