There will be no onsite registration for press.
Each press applicant must provide his or her own application and verification materials.
Social media sites and community forums will be considered for press badges ONLY if they have previously covered conventions of a similar scope.
Press applications and verification materials must be submitted before November 8, 2016.
Marvelous Nerd Year's Eve will consider applications from press in the comic book, book publishing, animation, film, television, gaming, and other pop culture related industries. All press applicants must be currently employed or on assignment by the outlet they are representing, and each applicant and/or crew member must submit their own application and required verification materials.
In general, press applicants fall into one of five categories: print, online, freelance, broadcast, and podcast/ blog. Documentary crews do not qualify for complimentary press badges.Â
If your outlet is selected for inclusion in our press corps, you will be expected to provide at least one (1) preview article and three (3) pieces of content either during or after the event. Links to these pieces will be sent to the Press Coordinator (press@geekexpos.com) within 12 hours of going live.
All attending press members are expected to follow guidelines on privacy and harassment of minors and cosplayers / costumed attendees. Simply, we don't take body shaming or leering lightly.
