Michael Cirlos

Michael Cirlos founded Humans of San Antonio, a photojournalism project inspired by Humans of New York, to celebrate the visual story of downtown San Antonio. He holds a degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and he is the recipient of the Awesome SA Community Award. In 2015, Michael graduated from the Mountain Workshops School of Photojournalism where he studied under Pulitzer Prize Photographer Rick Loomis of the LA Times. He is the staff photographer and videographer for Centro San Antonio, and is the marketing photographer for the City's Department of Arts and Culture. Michael currently has a photography exhibition at the Briscoe Western Art Museum titled 'Centuries of Immigration', and an outdoor photography exhibition at Peacock Alley titled 'Humans of San Antonio'. The Humans of San Antonio project was published in 2018 by Trinity University Press, and the Humans of San Antonio Book is available city-wide.
