Robert Brooks

ROB BROOKS has been a pioneer in the revival of Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) since 1994 and is currently one of only a handful of professional medieval combat instructors in the world. In 2003 he founded the Hotspur School of Defence, which has grown to become an internationally-respected HEMA club. Rob has taught and lectured in over 30 countries on five continents and is a founder, and former President of the British Federation for Historical Swordplay, established in 1997. When he is not arming himself with medieval weaponry, Rob lives a mostly harmless life on the Northumberland coast of North East England with his family and a menagerie of beasts.
