Dave Chisholm is an Eisner-Award-nominated cartoonist, musician, and educator currently residing in Rochester, NY where he received his doctorate in jazz trumpet from the Eastman School of Music in 2013. He coexists in both the music and comics worlds, resulting in a wide variety of creative projects. His works include Chasin' the Bird (2020, Z2 Comics), a kaleidoscopic portrait of jazz saxophonist Charlie Parker commissioned in celebration of his centennial, Canopus (2021, Scout Comics), a psychological sci-fi mystery, and graphic novel + soundtrack Instrumental (2017, Z2 Comics). He teaches music and comics at The Hochstein School and at the Rochester Institute for Technology. He spends his free time hanging out with his wife Elise and their cat Penny.
