The Rocky Horror Picture Show has been screening regulary in Minneapolis for almost 40 years. A shadow cast has been a proud tradition of Rocky Horror Picture Show screenings since its rise as a midnight movie favorite and cult classic. Since 1995 the shadow cast Transvestite Soup have been the proud purveyors and protectors of the Rocky Horror legacy in the Twin Cities.

Building on the legacies of previous shadow casts, Transvestite Soup currently performs at midnight screenings of Rocky Horror the last Saturday of every month at the Uptown Theater in Minneapolis. The members of Transvestite Soup hail from a diverse background, and welcomes those who wish to join the age, orientation, color, and gender blind cast. Transvestite Soup promotes the positive messages found in Rocky Horror Picture Show, encourages education and awareness of social issues such as sexual health, while reveling in the over-the-top, absurdist campiness the film pays homage to.
