Richard Baker

A best-selling author and award-winning game designer, Rich is the author of Breaker of Empires from Tor Books, an exciting new military science-fiction series. Restless Lightning, the second in the series, came out in October of 2018, and the next book (Scornful Stars) is due out later this year. He’s also the author of eleven Forgotten Realms novels, including the highly acclaimed Last Mythal and Blades of the Moonsea trilogies.

Rich’s career in the game industry began in 1991 with TSR, Inc. He’s worked on the Dungeons & Dragons game in its 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Editions. Some of his more notable credits include the Birthright Campaign Setting, Forge of Fury, 3e Forgotten Realms, Red Hand of Doom, Elemental Evil: Princes of the Apocalypse, and Lost Mine of Phandelver. These days he heads up Sasquatch Game Studio, a small-press publisher behind the Primeval Thule Campaign Setting and the new Alternity Science Fiction RPG.

Rich resides in the Seattle area with his wife Kim and their daughters, Alex and Hannah. His interests include hiking, racquetball, beer, tabletop games of all kinds, and the Philadelphia Phillies, who might be getting good again.
