Ashley Coates

Dr. Ashley Coates is an aerospace engineer in the Computational Physics Branch of the NASA Advanced Supercomputing Division at NASA Ames Research Center. She has spent the last 4.5 years on the Engineering Risk Assessment (ERA) Team, largely focused on performing computational combustion analysis in support of launch vehicle risk assessment. She also supports thermal radiation damage modeling for the Asteroid Threat Assessment Project (ATAP) and micrometeoroid impact analysis for the Mars Sample Return (MSR) Program. Ashley received her B.S. in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University.
