Rudy Rucker has published about forty books, both pop science and SF novels in the cyberpunk and transreal styles. He received Philip K. Dick awards for his books Software and Wetware, which were the first (1982) to use the notion of making software copies of human minds. He earned a Ph.D. in higher mathematics. He worked as a professor of computer science at San Jose State in Silicon Valley. His most recent novel Juicy Ghosts is about telepathy, immortality, and the removal of an evil and insane President who tries to steal an election. Needless to say, he had to publish that one himself. But he scored big with a Kickstarter.
