Keith R.A. DeCandido has written fiction in more than thirty licensed universes from Alien to Zorro, including TV shows (Star Trek, Orphan Black, Supernatural), movies (Cars, Kung Fu Panda, Serenity), games (World of Warcraft, Dungeons & Dragons, Resident Evil), and comic books (Spider-Man, Thor, X-Men). He's also written bunches of work of his own creation, including fantastical police procedurals in the fictional cities of Cliff's End and Super City and urban fantasy in the somewhat real cities of New York and Key West.

Recent and upcoming work includes Phoenix Precinct, the sixth novel in his fantasy/police procedural series; four new novellas in the Super City Cops series; A Furnace Sealed and Feat of Clay, the first two books in his new urban fantasy series that takes place in his home borough of the Bronx, New York; All-the-Way House, part of the Systema Paradoxa series of books about cryptids, in this case providing the secret origin of the Jersey Devil; the award-winning graphic novel Icarus, adapting Gregory A. Wilson's novel into comics form; short stories in Across the Universe: Tales of Alternative Beatles, Bad Ass Moms, Footprints in the Stars, Devilish and Divine, Brave New Girls: Adventures of Gals & Gizmos, Thrilling Adventure Yarns, Turning the Tied, and Release the Virgins!; the short-story collection Ragnarok and a Hard Place: More Tales of Cassie Zukav, Weirdness Magnet; and two collaborative novels: To Hell and Regroup with David Sherman, the conclusion of David's "18th Race" trilogy of military science fiction novels, and Animal with Munish K. Batra, MD, FACS, a thriller about a serial killer who targets people who harm animals. He writes regularly about Star Trek, comic book adaptations, and other pop culture ponderings for the award-winning webzine Tor.com, and also on his Patreon.

​With his wife Wrenn Simms, Keith launched Whysper Wude, a very-small-press publisher, in 2021 with the anthology The Four ???? of the Apocalypse.

​ Keith is a third-degree black belt in karate (he not only trains regularly, but also teaches to both kids and adults), a professional musician (currently percussionist for the parody band Boogie Knights), and a professional editor of more than 25 years' standing (though he usually does it sitting down).
