Janet Hetherington is a writer, screenwriter and cartoonist with a degree in Journalism from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. She is the creator of the Eternal Romance comic book series, which was published under her Best Destiny imprint. Janet has worked on numerous comics projects, includingElvira, Mistress of the Dark from Claypool Comics, which she scripted for six years. Janet has also written for Animation magazine, Animation World Network and VFXWorld.com. She is former Editor of the Canadian Toy Testing Council’s Toy Report and former Managing Editor of WizardWorld.com. Janet writes prose fiction as well, and her short story “The Power Lunch” is published in Bell, Book & Beyond: An Anthology of Witchy Tales. Janet is a 1999 Aurora Award winner for excellence in Canadian science fiction and fantasy. She has served as a judge for comics' prestigious Eisner Awards (1997) and for the Canada Council for the Arts (2003). She is a member of the Ottawa Science Fiction Society. Janet currently works as a Senior Communciations Advisor and speechwriter with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. While Janet continues her comics work, she is also writing feature-length screenplays.
