Cliff Samuels

Organizer, reader and avid collector; those are the best words to describe Cliff Samuels. He has been collecting Science Fiction and Fantasy books and a convention organizer for over 35 years. It can be said that even if he stopped buying new books he would never be able to read what he has, but that will never happen. He has founded, chaired and organized numerous genre conventions in Alberta. His IT background has allowed him to work on almost every aspect of a convention. As a CSFFA (Canadian Science Fiction and Fantasy Association) board member he has held the positions of president, media liaison and treasurer but for the past eight years he has administered the Aurora Awards. He currently is also the guest liaison and finance director for Calgary’s When Words Collide festival. Originally from Vancouver, his first convention was a VCON in 1980.
