Bill Miekena

For the past 5 years at Mattel I have been the creative force behind the highly successful Mattel WWE Basic and Elite figure lines. I am responsible for the complete development of over 200 SKUs per year, from initial concept onto sculpt direction and approval, to deco creation and evaluation for costing. I am responsible for evaluating every individual SKU sample that I develop for final production. I also develop on average 2 large playsets per year for use with both figure segments, along with role play and soft good items

In the course of this career I have learned many transferable skills including public relations ( I have many videos online where I reach out to our large collector base). marketing, and finding and enforcing cost efficiencies. The last is the skill I am most proud of, as I have maintained the perceived quality of the toys I work on despite production cost pressures that increase every year.
