Raymond “Ray” Park is a British actor, stuntman and martial artist, best known for playing Darth Maul in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Toad in X-Men, Snake Eyes in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and Edgar on Heroes.

Raymond Park was born on August 23, 1974, in Glasgrow, Scotland. He went to school in Glasgrow at Greenfield Primary school until he was seven years old, when he moved to London. From a young age, Ray has always wanted to be in movies. His inspiration came from his father’s love of martial arts and Bruce Lee. At the age seven, Park’s father introduced him to traditional Chinese Northern Shaolin Kung Fu. As he progressed in Kung Fu, he started to train in kickboxing and wushu. When Ray was 16 years old he won Great Britain’s Martial Arts National Championship. When he was 15, he went to a gymnastics school to practice gymnastics in order to improve his martial arts skills. He then went to compete around the world in martial arts tournaments. In his twenties, Ray started to focus on his lifelong dream of acting.

Park wanted to learn as much about the process of film making, and started as a stunt double. His first film was Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. In 1999, Ray got the role as Darth Maul in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. His voice was dubbed over by Peter Serafinowicz. Ray continued to be a stunt double for Christopher Walken in the film Sleepy Hollow. Park’s first speaking role was in X-Men as Toad. He later played the role of Snake eyes in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Park also appeared as Edgar in the television series Heroes. Ray’s latest work includes the role of Stake Eyes in G.I. Joe:Retaliation, Nathan in Avarice, and Henry ‘Hank’ Liddle in Future Fighters.
