Roland Garza

Roland Garza is a local composer, percussionist, private music educator, and sound designer within the Columbus, Ohio area. Originally from Dallas, Texas, Roland has 12 years of percussion experience, ranging from a variety of concert, marching, and world ethnic percussion. This includes his academic studies from Richland College in Dallas, Texas, and Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. In recent years, he has composed music for live performances, game-scores, and percussion ensembles.
In 2017, Roland also composed media compositions for Music Mammoth (previously known as “Komposium”) as well as Project Enterprise’s video game, “Fowl Magic” in 2016. Roland currently is co-composing alongside Jon Gazda in Multivarious’ upcoming video game, “No Mercy.”

Also in 2017, Roland was recorded on the Steel Drum in Ocean Studios Burbank in Los Angeles, CA for the “Project LA” sessions. He was one of 25 steelpannists from all over the US & Canada to record with LA Rock Icons Stephen Perkins (Jane’s Addiction), Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big/David Lee Roth), Tracii Guns (LA Guns) & Bruce Kulick (KISS/Grand Funk Railroad), all produced by Matt Starr (Mr. Big/Ace Frehley). The project was mixed by Smiley Sean (Tommy Lee) and mastered by Dave Collins (Metallica/Soundgarden/The Police).

From 2013 to 2014, his marching experiences included Drum Corp International, performing with “Genesis Drum and Bugle Corp” and Winter Guard International, performing with “Vigilantes Indoor Percussion.”

Roland has made it a goal objective to contribute personal experiences as a devoted musician of the Fine Arts to a professional level of music education, performance and composition; ensuring that every student and performance is met with equal acts of excelling in creativity, education, and musicianship.
