Dan Schaefer has contributed his skills as a concept artist to film and television productions for more than 24 years. His list of projects varies from animation (Teen-Age Mutant Turtles animated TV series), advertising campaigns (BMW, Adidas, Nike, Intel, HP, Clorox, Airwick, Cadillac) and feature films (for NBC/Universal, MGM, Lions Gate, Paramount, TNT). His diverse skill set has led him into art direction (Valley of Light for Hallmark) and producing (associate producer on the film Deep Winter starring Michael Madsen). He has worked as a pre-visualization artist with Gus Van Sant (Paranoid Park, To Each His Own Cinema, Milk), Guillermo Arriga (The Burning Plain) Ellory Elkayam (Without a Paddle 2), Jonathan Frakes and Frank Oz (Leverage), Omar Madha and Peter Werner (for NBC’s Grimm).
Along side working in the film industry, Dan contributed art to comic book projects for such companies as Dark Horse (Mark Hamill’s The Black Pearl, The Hammer of God Mini-series, DH Presents), Marvel (Hardcase, Peter Parker), DC Comics (Batman Returns Golden book adaptation, The Atom) and many more.
Since 2007 his film company, Filmbyframe, has produced 4 documentary features including Kings of the Road, Mania, Figaro and House by the Side of the Road.
