An artist best known for his character driven, creature and cover illustrations, created in his intense and unique line art style.
Traditional pencil and ink, remain drawing weapons of choice for Andy Brase. Soaked in dark, moody atmospheric shadows, many of his works blur the genre lines, containing elements of fantasy, horror, sci-fi and superheroes.
In comics, Andy has drawn covers for titles including Swamp Thing, Dark Sun (D&D), Robert E. Howard’s Kull, Bloodshot, Hulk, Daredevil, The Darkness and many more.
Andy Brase has done book cover art for George R.R. Martin and Neil Gaiman stories, He has been commissioned to do official illustrations for popular games including Dragon Age and Assassin’s Creed. In addition to his contracted art, he continues to work on private commissions for collectors. His personal art is focused on original creatures, characters and worlds.
An upcoming (2016) Universal Pictures horror-thriller has licensed some of Andy’s personal art to appear on screen in the film.
His illustrations have also appeared in other areas including RPG art, album art, toy & concept design, T-shirt design, and card art.
Andy’s work has been featured many times in the annual artbook “Spectrum” and in the Spectrum Exhibition at the Museum of American Illustration in New York City.
Andy also has his own personal project called Chaos Destiny which is set in a dark fantasy, alien world and planned to be published as an illustrative concept artbook. Some of the work from this project has already been featured in “Spectrum” and on the site “Masters in Print. Com” along with other well known sci-fi artists including H.R. Giger.
