Interview with Brian Pulido

The Norgy Network asked Brian Pulido the inspiration for Lady Death:

Well, how I came up with Lady Death went something like this; it was around 1987 or 1988, I was walking around with the idea of making a teenage Frankenstein for the time. I was at an arena concert seeing Megadeth and I looked around and I said “what would scare people is us.” So, I created this character named Evil Ernie, but Evil Ernie needed a reason for being. I was operating with the thought that behind every good man is a good woman. So, I began the quest of inventing the ideal woman from Evil Ernie’s point of view. That’s what began a little bit of what she looked like and her attitude. She appeared as a guest star in the first Evil Ernie series Youth Gone Wild, but after that it was time for me to detail her origin. I seem to gravitate towards stories where the characters in their present are fairly brutal, but they do have a soft gooey interior. It’s true of Evil Ernie and it’s true of Lady Death. So in short, Lady Death was created because Evil Ernie needed a reason to do what he was doing.
