Mike Worley

Artist for Archie Comics and Bongo Comics Simpsons

Mike Worley was born in Atchison, Kansas. He was a school teacher before turning to an artistic profession. He was in the DC Comics “New Talent” program as a colorist in 1984. He did his first professional coloring work for Eclipse Comics in 1986. He also did coloring jobs for Marvel, before doing his first pencil work for Archie Comics in 1990. Worley pencilled gag pages for this company until 1996. He did art on Ren & Stimpy for Marvel and did inking duties for Marvel Comics Presents and Midnight Sons Unlimited.

He worked with Phil Hester on The Picture Taker for Slave Labor in 1996, and Worley also contributed to Hester’s book The Wretch. In 1998-99, Worley did a Thunder Girl story for Gary Carlson’s Big Bang Comics and worked for Brian Miller’s HiFi design studio on Tohubohu, which was published by New Breed Comics. He contributed to Bongo Comics Simpsons comic, and additionally worked for Double Eye Studios (Bloodshed) and Fiction House Entertainment. In 2002 he worked with Brian Miller again on The Terrifying Tales of Tommi Trek for Funkotron’s Double Take.
