Star of Firefly, Serenity, Batman vs. Robin, and Arrow

Firefly‘s Sean Maher is coming to Planet Comicon Kansas City 2016. Maher is known for his role as Simon Tamm on Joss Whedon’s fan favorite series and its sequel film Serenity. In addition to that role, Maher has appeared as Shrapnel on Arrow and made guest appearances on Human Target, Ghost Whisperer, The Mentalist, and Warehouse 13. He also provides the voice of Dick Grayson / Nightwing on Son of Batman, Batman vs. Robin, and Batman: Bad Blood.

Interview with Sean Maher

Maher told Confessions of a Pop Culture Addict about his first San Diego Comic-Con experience:

I had no idea that [this sort of fandom] existed. My first experience with [fandom] was at Comic Con San Diego in the middle of shooting Serenity, so we were half way finished. All of us went down [to the convention], and Joss didn’t tell anybody we were coming. He had a little clip from the movie and he was on the stage talking and he said, “I have nine surprises for you” and the whole place went “Gahhhhhhh!” He named our names one by one and I walked down to the stage. All the other actors have been doing conventions, but I had no idea. So I walked on stage and grabbed Morena Baccarin’s hand and she said “Pretty wild, right?” and I said “Oh my God!” I swear to God that they were screaming so loud that I felt wind. Then we went back to work on Monday, but I had no idea that it was resonating so strongly with people.
