Artist of S.W.O.R.D.,Wolverine & the X-Men, and Deadpool
Steven Sanders is an artist whose comic work includes Wolverine & the X-Men, Five Fists of Science, S.W.O.R.D., and X-Men, Deadpool, Wolverine and Thor comics. He did the first comic made for cell phones in North America; Thunder Road with Sean Demory. He is a native of and lives in Kansas City, Missouri.
On his motivation to get into comics, Steven said this to Sketch Maven.com:
“This probably sounds bad, but it was kind of the path of least resistance. I had been doing work in other fields (gaming, mostly) and was trying to get into Sci-Fi and Fantasy cover painting, and doing some comic work here and there for fun. But, then I met Matt Fraction via some mutual friends from the Kansas City Art Institute, and things just kind of rolled from there. Honestly, I can be happy drawing just about anything. It’s the process that I find the most rewarding, not the final product, and making comics is a very complex and nuanced process, so I feel pretty good about my prospects of keeping challenged by it for quite some time.”
