Dr. Farhad Javidi

Dr. Farhad Javidi, professor and program chair of Simulation and Game Development at CPCC, created of the first state-approved associate degree program in Simulation and Game Development in the United States. He has served as an adjunct faculty member in the Computer Science departments at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and the University of South Florida, and in the Visual and Performing Arts department at Johnson C. Smith University. He is an author, a nationally-recognized conference speaker and, for three consecutive years, a judge for Microsoft’s ImagineCup World competition in the areas of Game Development and Mobile App Development. He is also a judge of games for the Smithsonian American Art Museum Arcade. Dr. Javidi’s team won the US ImagineCup competition for two consecutive years and advanced to the finals of the World competition. Dr. Javidi has developed and published more than 200 video games and mobile apps through his company, Simbryo. He serves on the executive board of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) and the board of AFS Charlotte.
