Ian Boucher is the editor of the book Humans and Paragons: Essays on Super-Hero Justice. With a background in television production, film studies, and communication theory, he earned his Master of Library and Information Science at Kent State University to advocate for reliable information, and writes about the roles of film and super-hero comic books in culture. He loves super-heroes and is excited to talk about their most fundamental element at Raleigh Supercon 2017!


Rebecca Johnson is a video editor, encoder, and podcaster who received a degree in Telecommunications and Film from the University of Alabama. In addition to working in the television industry for over ten years, she shoots and edits videos for her YouTube channel, and her voice can be heard on Supergirl Radio, a podcast that discusses Kara Zor-El and the Supergirl television series. She contributed one of the chapters for the book Humans and Paragons: Essays on Super-Hero Justice.


John Loyd has been a Sequart chapter contributor for Humans and Paragons: Essays on Super-Hero Justice and Minutes to Midnight: Twelve Essays on Watchmen. He was a panel member for a paper on Watchmen at the Eastern Communication Association’s 2008 Pittsburgh convention. With a BA in Communication from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY, Loyd has worked as a reporter for the Olean Times Herald, snagged a byline in the Buffalo News while working in South Korea as an English Teacher, and has been a card-carrying member of the Turtle Force since at least 1994 (Charter # 264507). He lives in Owego, NY with his wife, Hilary, where they train in the Korean sword art, Haidong Gumdo.
