Josh C. Waller

Raised on a cattle ranch on the Central Coast of California, JOSH C. WALLER (Director/Producer) was simultaneously weaned on theatre, character-driven films, and labor-intensive chores. After a tour in the US Marine Corps, he made his way to NYC to study acting at the prestigious William Esper Studio, training grounds for such esteemed actors as William Hurt, Jeff Goldblum, Kim Basinger, and David Morse. During this time he began to develop his own material as a filmmaker and in 2000 he moved back to the West Coast to immerse himself within the heart of the industry. While pursuing his feature film ventures, Waller was cutting his teeth on short films, directing over ten within a 7-year time span, including the Award-winning dark comedy Escape, The Nail (a romantic-comedy starring David Krumholtz), and My Blues Run Red a dark Noir-ish drama starring Chris Masterson and Kate Towne.

Josh made his feature film directorial debut with the critically-acclaimed action film, Raze, starring Zoë Bell, which premiered at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival. Waller also wrote the original story, and produced the film. He immediately followed by producing and directing “McCanick,” a gritty cop drama penned by Daniel Noah, and starred David Morse. The film made its premiere at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, and was released theatrically in 2014.

In 2010, Waller teamed with partners Daniel Noah and Elijah Wood to form SpectreVision, a production entity created to tell character-driven stories tackling emotional and human experiences that test the boundaries of the genre space.
