Kaela Joseph

Kaela M Joseph, PhD: Kaela is a clinical psychology fellow who uses her love of sci-fi and horror fandoms to inform her clinical practice, research, and social justice work in the LGBTQ community. Kaela, along with panelists Alysa Cisneros and Madeleine Baldwin, participates in a fandom based, international scavenger hunt (GISHWHES), which she uses in all aspects of her work as an example that anything is achievable with enough teamwork and dedication. Kaela has previously presented on fandom culture at professional conferences on health, including ways in which fannish activities like fan art, fan fiction, and conventions can be used to bring people together and encourage important conversations about topics such as mental health.
