Matthew "Novastar" Carauddo

Matthew brings over 20 years of experience in fencing, staged combat and martial arts to Silicon Valley Comic Con (Fencing, Wing Chun Kung Fu, Jujitsu, Shotokan Karate, Jeet Kune Do, Kendo, Tricking). Better known as "Novastar" in the saber community, he is a licensed fencing instructor, approved and examined by the Francais Federation D’Escrime (FFE), has achieved several gold, silver and bronze medals in competitive saber fencing, performed in 100s of shows as both an actor, singer and staged combat artist, and has directed most of his own projects since 2005/2006.

He has taught hundreds of group fencing classes and one-on-one lessons behind the mask throughout the California bay area at schools, academies of fencing, summer camps, and parks & recreational facilities. Today, attendees of SVCC can learn about Matthew's "Saber Combat System", which will teach you the basics of staged combat via... light sabers!
