Jane Metcalfe is the CEO and Editor in Chief of NEO.LIFE, a new media company she created last year to explore the astounding developments in neuroscience, genetics, food, the microbiome, longevity, fertility, digital health, sex, death, and more. NEO.LIFE tracks the science, business, culture, triumphs and tragedies of our technology-driven evolution and introduces the researchers, biohackers, artists, entrepreneurs, investors, and anyone else inventing or inspiring the future of our species.
Prior to that, Jane made chocolate on a pier in San Francisco as the President of TCHO Chocolate, a craft maker of super premium chocolate, whose mission is centered on teaching cocoa farmers how to make better beans so that TCHO can make exquisite chocolate for consumers and food professionals. In March of 2018, TCHO was sold to Japanese confectioner Glico.
Jane is probably best known for her role as cofounder and president of Wired Ventures, Inc., a diversified media company whose businesses included Wired Magazine (U.S., U.K., and Japanese editions), Wired Digital, including the search engine HotBot, and Wired Books. Wired was called the magazine of the decade by AdAge, and Jane and her partner Louis Rossetto were recently honored with a Webby Award for Lifetime Achievement.
