MARINA SIRTIS is best known for her role as Counselor Deanna Troi on Star Trek: The Next Generation and the subsequent film series. She was born in London, England to Greek parents who did not want her to become an actress. As soon as Marina completed high school, she secretly applied to the Guild Hall School of Music and Drama. Sirtis began playing small roles in both British and American features and TV, including Space Riders (1983) and Blind Date (1984). After her graduation she moved to L.A. and 6 months later, just before she planned to go back home, she got the part of Counselor Deanna Troi in Star Trek: The Next Generation. She emigrated to the U.S. in 1986, later becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen.

Sirtis went on to reprise her signature role in the Star Trek features and several episodes of the spin-off series Star Trek: Voyager, as well as TV sci-fi fare such as Stargate SG-1 and Gene Roddenberry’s Earth: Final Conflict. She has appeared in dozens of shows including Family Guy, The Closer, Grey’s Anatomy, The Outer Limits and many more. She provided the voice of Demona in animated classic series Gargoyles, Matriarch Benezia in Mass Effect, Queen Bee in Young Justice, and Assign Bot in Bee and Puppycat. She accepted a recurring role as Director of Mossad on NCIS. Her character, Orli Elbaz, was introduced in the Season 10 episode “Berlin” and in the second episode of Season 11.

Sirtis voiced the Enterprise’s computer in the first episode in the web series Star Trek Continues, “Pilgrim of Eternity” (2013).
