Brian Augustyn

Location: Artist Alley A4

BRIAN AUGUSTYN was born and raised in Chicago, but took a job with DC Comics and moved east in 1987. As an editor for DC, he oversaw a great array of titles including Flash, Justice League, Wonder Woman, Plastic Man, The Shadow Strikes, Bugs Bunny and many more. As a writer, Brian wrote a number of titles for DC, including Black Condor and Firebrand–and Flash and Justice League Year One, with co-writer Mark Waid. He created DC’s first Elseworlds title, Gotham by Gaslight in 1989, which has sold better than 700,000 copies and has never been out of print. A sequel to GbyG, ‘Master of the Future,’ followed in 1990.

Brian has since scripted comics for all major publishers including Marvel, Dark Horse, Wildstorm (for whom he wrote Crimson and Out There both with Humberto Ramos). He also worked with good friend, Brian Pulido at Chaos! Comics (and later, Coffin Comics).

Brian lives in the Phoenix, AZ suburbs with his wife; not far from their two grown daughters. He continues to regularly write and edit comics.
