Escapism is healthy. It allows us to reset and jump back into the helter-skelter of daily life. On the other hand, too much escapism can be a detriment and a drain to us, interfering with things we need to do in order to be successful. I am not only a strong supporter of balancing time between both reality and escapism, but also looking at the fandom things we love and applying them to the real world more often. It makes us more well-rounded individuals, and also makes life a little more like our favorite stories.
