Denis O’Hare is an American actor noted for portraying the vampire Russell Edgington on HBO’s fantasy series True Blood and a recurring role in three seasons of American Horror Story. He is also known for his supporting roles in such films as Charlie Wilson’s War, Milk, Changeling and Dallas Buyers Club. In 2010, O’Hare joined the cast of HBO’s True Blood in its third season as Russell Edgington, the vampire king of Mississippi who is 2,800 years old. In 2011, he appeared in the film The Eagle as a Roman officer named Lutorius. Recently he has appeared in a recurring role as Judge Charles Abernathy on the television drama series The Good Wife. In 2011, he starred as Larry Harvey in the first season of the FX anthology series American Horror Story, for which he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie in 2012. He returned to the show in 2013, playing Spalding in American Horror Story: Coven and once more as Stanley in American Horror Story: Freak Show, the latter for which he earned a second Primetime Emmy Award nomination. He is slated for a role in the upcoming American Horror Story: Hotel.
