The Masquerade Parade is open to Costume Contest applicants who do not qualify as finalists. Masquerade Parade participants will compete for Fan Awards. The Masquerade Parade will also be open to another 50 participants in costume who would like to strut their stuff to audience applause. The goal here is on fun and performance. Participants in the Masquerade Parade are not be required to go through pre-judging or adhere to costume creation rules. All other rules apply. The 2016 COSTUME CONTEST will be a multi-media stage production in the Grand Ballroom of the Kansas City Convention Center. There will be seating for approximately 2,800 audience members, full sound and lighting, and two high-definition video screens on either side of the stage.The Costume Contest will accept a maximum of 100 entrants who will be required to go through pre-judging. 50 finalists will be selected from that group to compete in the Master Costume Contest on stage. Prejudging takes place in the Cantina Adjacent to the Grand Ballroom. Thats 2501D. Prejudging runs from noon-3:30 on Saturday May 21st. Both components take place on Saturday, May 21th beginning at 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom, Room 2501 ABC, second level at the far south end of the complex.
Directions from the Exhibit Hall: Cross the skywalk to the east, go down the escalator, continue east down the hallway until you reach the corner, turn right and continue. The Grand Ballroom will be on your right.
