The classic horror role-playing game Call of Cthulhu, based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft, and written by Utah resident Sandy Petersen, is issuing its seventh edition. Considered by many reviewers to be the best role-playing game of all time, the game and its parent company Chaosium, Inc., have experienced their own sanity shaking horrors keeping the game alive, funded, and relevant. The panel will discuss the origins of the game, the mechanics and appeal of the game, and the excitement surrounding the Kickstarter campaign that almost was, then wasn't, then was, that allowed the 7th edition of the game to come to terrifying life.
