Despite the movies and cartoons, the original black and white independent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic took the comic community by storm and presented grittier, more serious heroes in a half-shell with driven, violent villains to match. Kevin Siembieda's upstart role-playing game company Palladium, purchased the license for the game, which sold out first editions almost as fast as the comics (in part because of controversial tables included in the game), which quickly became the hottest comics in the business. The panel will discuss the early days of TMNT, the comics, their weird relationship to Daredevil, the role-playing game, and all the nostalgia and controversy that followed.
