In the mid 1950’s, a little studio in England called Hammer re-made a BBC serial called THE QUATERMASS EXPERIMENT (now called the XPERIMENT in honour of the restricted X category) and launched a successful two decades that saw them not only revive Gothic classics like FRANKENSTEIN and DRACULA, but also explore remakes of other classic horror films and adaptations of novels like J. Sheridan Le Fanu’s CARMILLA as THE VAMPIRE LOVERS. A celebration of a brief flowering of the fantastic at Hammer and the other competing small companies that sprang up the time.
Second medium size programming space. Will also have a widescreen tv or monitor available for presenting slides or running video. On Friday and Sunday the entire track of programming here is sponsored by VCON Emeritus Stan Hyde and the Monster Attack Team model building club - so expect topics on those days to range from how to build and paint garage kit models to an in-depth study of the Godzilla Multiverse. On Saturday you can expect a little bit of everything here.
