Fight scenes are an integral part of compelling stories across genre and medium. All too often, though, fights are inserted into stories just because they're cool (because, hey, let's agree: they really are). In this panel, stunt coordinator, fight director, and author Jenn Zuko will Roger-Ebert for you several fight scenes and show you how the Fight Is indeed The Story. Or should be. This panel is meant for anyone who enjoys and/or is a creator of stories that require action (or any action fan of any stripe). Come learn about story structure as it pertains to fights, and come away with valuable tips and rules of thumb as to how scenes of violence can and should fit into a story, and how gratuitous, "cool-looking" fight scenes can often damage a narrative of any medium.
