Creature Horror: Why We Are Drawn to it, and How to Create Monsters

Saturday May 11, 2019 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm

This panel focuses on the appeal of creatures, but also on how to create them. We will talk about what resonates most with us about these fictional beasts, and how to turn them into creatures of our own, in our own stories. You can’t simply slap a claw here and a tentacle there and expect the reader to buy into your creation. For readers and writers alike, come talk about what creatures mean to us, and how we, as writers, can breathe life into new creatures ready to be born.
