Geek culture is synonymous with fandoms of all shapes, sizes, and colors. It makes sense that people become part of this culture when they are looking for like-minded individuals, and are typically able to find them. This panel will openly discuss how, with suicide rates rising by 40% (in Utah) over the last 17 years, and Utah being said to have the highest rates of adult mental illness in the country, what can we do? How do we become the support system we all need/need to be? Join as we dig into the topics of bullying, exclusion, mental health, and suicide in our community. As a group we will try to find ways we can help when our friends and fellow geeks need us the very most.
