Writing fantasy can be so frustrating. Should you have a magic system? What is a magic system and how is it different from just adding magical elements to your story? If you do need a magic system then how do you go about putting it together in a way that doesn't seem too perfect or unbelievable? Luckily, there are rules that can help you create magic that makes sense for the world you want to create that will make it easy for your readers to get on board. This would be a presentation with members of the Lit Service Podcast: Caitlin Sangster, Cameron Harris, Aliah Eberting, and Kristen Evans with guest Kathryn Purdie. Aliah Eberting would moderate. We usually do a first chapter critique for a listener (giving aspiring authors a chance for professional advice on their work) and, if FanX could help us let attendees know about the opportunity through social media channels or however else, we could get submissions from people who are planning to be at the convention (which would be cool! But not essential.)
