The Trickster in Fantasy

Friday October 18, 2019 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Neil Gaiman’s adapted work American Gods has introduced the trickster Anansi from Akan folklore to a broader audience. What other trickster deities are available to enrich the pantheons of fantasy worlds? How do tricksters function differently than other deities? How might they breathe new life into fantasy storytelling?
