Controversial Histories: Modern Mindsets vs. The Classics

Saturday October 19, 2019 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm

Few controversial histories have shaken genre fiction like H. P. Lovecraft's (though Robert E. Howard, Author of Conan the Barbarian, made people take notice). Lovecraft's controversial views are well-documented, as is the fact that he is heralded as the progenitor of cosmic horror. Can the work be separated from the man? Should it be? What are the societal implications in both scenarios?

GEEK: Horror (Ogeechee)

The human mind is fascinated by fear. Monsters, murderers, the supernatural, things that go bump in the night, and all the thrills and chills that go with them. From the silver screen to the printed page, we will explore the antagonists that make us shiver… and uncover why we keep coming back for more. If you like to be scared, you’ll love what we have in store for you!
