Your family or school can join the cadre of CoCoRaHS citizen scientist volunteer team working together to measure rain across the globe. This session guides participants through setting up their own school yard or backyard rain stations and share data on the International CoCoRaHS network. The first 15-25 teachers, scout leaders, and/or homeschoolers to pinky promise that they will submit reports to CoCoRaHS will be given precipitation gauge donated by the PACific RAIN (PACRAIN) Network, and 10 double pinky promise participants will be given a second gauge to perform classroom compare and contrast experiments between the rain gauges as an introduction to uncertainty. No experience necessary. If you've got a budding scientist around, this is a great project to join!
