The Practically Positive Princess Panel In Every Way

Saturday September 18, 2021 10:00 am to 11:00 am

Let's face it: the history or princesses in film and literature can be problematic at times from being the perpetual damsel in distress, to falling in love way too easily, to needing a man to solve their problems. In 2018's "Wreck It Ralph 2" Disney signaled this reality as Vanellope met a room full of princesses in a self-aware moment of acknowledgement of those very issues. But are there positive things to be found in the princess phenomenon? Join our panel of authors, artists, and princess enthusiasts as they discuss their influences growing up, along with the pragmatic sides of our favorite princesses, from being role models to moral compasses to strong heroines, from the Brothers Grimm to Hans Christian Anderson to Walt Disney and more.
